Which Fishing Sling or Hip Pack Should You Choose?

For lure anglers who move all day, our 8L lure fishing sling combines a full-arc airtight zipper rated IPX7 with moulded tool panels and converts to a backpack. Our 12L compact fishing sling is rated IPX8 to 20 metres for wading and kayak fishing. Our 8L welded sling with YKK zippers opens faster for constant access and is rated IPX6 for rain and spray. For the lightest setup, our 4.5L creek hip pack sits on the waist and leaves the shoulders free for casting.

How Do You Keep a Sling Stable While Casting?

A sling that swings while casting or wading is tiring. A stabiliser strap or waist belt locks the bag to the body, and the strap should sit on the shoulder your customers prefer, which is why we build left- and right-shoulder versions on welded anchors. Is the front pocket on a fishing sling waterproof?

Only if it is specified with a welded waterproof zipper. On some designs only the main compartment is submersible, and we state this on every tech pack.

Can I swim or wade with a fishing sling?

Only with an airtight-zipper model rated IPX7 or IPX8. IPX6 slings are for rain and spray.

Why is the airtight zipper stiff?

Airtight zippers are tight by design. A large pull, a pull cord and occasional zipper lubricant make them easier to use.
